Meet The Coaches

Jason Marr has been the director of the Puget Sound area of the Northwest Blazers since 2021.  Each year he has been able to help many student athletes reach their goals of continuing their academic and athletic careers in college.  He has over 20 years of college coaching experience ranging from High School to the WNBA  (Mount Si High School, Issaquah High School, Newport High School, Seattle Storm)

​Kyra has been with the Northwest Blazers since 2021.  She is currently the Head Coach at Edmonds College.  During her time in Washington she has coached at Seattle University, Pacific Lutheran University, and Everett Community College (2021 NWAC North Champion).  Prior to moving to Washington she was a graduate assistant at Hawai'i Pacific University where she helped them to a PacWest Championship and ranked as high as 25th in the nation.​  Originally from California, Kyra played JUCO ball at Oxnard College before finishing out her career at Hawai'i Pacific University where they were Regular Season PacWest Champions, getting her degrees in Communications.

Marquessa is back with the Blazers for her third season. Previously, she assistant coach at Westminster University and Adams State University.  She also was the Head Coach at Pierce College.  Prior to that she was an assistant at Lower Columbia College where they won the 2022 NWAC Championship.  Originally from Utah,  Gilson began her playing career as a two-year starter at BYU-Hawaii before transferring to Colorado Mesa University. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology Education with a minor in Coaching from Weber State University and a Master of Science in Management and Leadership from Western Governors University.

Kellis has been with the Blazers since 2022 and is currently the Head Coach at Pierce College.  Before this she was the Head Coach at Todd Beamer HS. Prior to that, she was an assistant at Pierce College. Previously, Kellis was a graduate assistant at Pacific Lutheran University, where she received a masters degree in teaching.

Originally from Vancouver, WA, she played collegiate basketball at the University of Redlands where she was a SCIAC Champion and graduated with a degree in chemistry.

Jeremy has been with the Blazers since 2025.  He is currently an assistant at Edmonds College and skills trainer.  He is also a lead coach and operates the shoreline school district after school enrichment programs with One on One Basketball Inc. 
Orginally from Texas, he went to Western Washington University where he was a student assistant for the men's basketball team and received his degree in Kinesiology and specialized in sport psychology 
 

Jordan is currently an Assistant Coach at Pierce College.  Originally from Lacey, Wa, she played collegiately at Pierce College and Edmonds College before transferring to University of Virgin Islands.
